Santa Jolly

Santa Jolly, slip a Madaline kit under the tree, For me.
I've been an awful good girl,
Santa Jolly, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa Jolly, Nicey Jane Pack too, Light blue.
I'll wait up for you dear,
Santa Jolly, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Think of all the fun I've missed,
Think of all the patterns that I haven't list,
Next year I could be oh, so good,
If you'd check off my Christmas list,

Santa honey, I wanna pre cut,
And really that's not a lot,
I've been an angel all year,
Santa Jolly, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa cutie, there's one thing that I really need, a cake.
I really don’t care what kind,
Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa Jolly, fill my stocking with a Sewline, And thread.
Sugar Flower in there too,
Santa Jolly, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Come and trim my Christmas tree,
With lots of thread made in Germany,
I really do believe in you,
Let's see if you believe in me,

Santa Jolly, forgot to mention one little thing, A bag.
The kind to use with a jelly roll,
Santa Jolly, and hurry down the chimney tonight,
Hurry down the chimney tonight,
Hurry down the chimney tonight!

Sent with Love,

ok...

Jingle Jingle!

Christmas is almost here!! And I'm not quite ready. My list is getting smaller however, and I still need to watch "White Christmas". Here are a few things I crossed off my list.

Schnibble pincushions.

A few aprons made out of dish towels.

A hand full of car caddies.

And 30 pints and 48 half pints of pomegranate jelly!

Look what came in the mail this week! My share of the siggie blocks. It will be fun to put them together.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!

Happy November

November has just about come and gone!

Our family had a spookin' good time at Disneyland over Halloween. There were lots of ghosts and goblins lurking around. I can't believe how many people were dressed up as pirates. I think pirates were the choice of costume this year. Check out the photo on the left....these ladies were on stilts at Downtown Disney. They were the hit of the party. Everyone wanted their picture taken with them. (including us)

Our little community celebrates Vetran's Day with a parade. My sister and her family came out to watch. My hubby and daughter were in the parade. Hoot Hoot !! My dad is a vetran from the Korean War. Her served 4 years in the Navy as a gunner's mate. Thanks Dad for helping keep our country free.

So here is are a few thing I accomplished this month. This table runner and table topper is from Charmed and Dangerous by Heather Mulder Peterson.  They are both Christmas presents. Yea!! There is something so gratifying when I can cross a name off my list.

I just got this cute little wall hanging back from the quilter. It's from the book Occasions by Whimsicals.  It's bound and hanging on the wall. I know it's a little early, but I don't care...I love snowmen!

My turkey doesn't have eyes on yet..he needs to go to the quilter. He won't be done in time for Thanksgiving, but that's ok. He will be stuffed and ready for next year. This pattern is Presidential Pardon by Sandy Gervais.

Happy Thanksgiving!

PS Check out my quilt here. I can't blog about it yet. It's a Christmas present...shhh! (This means you, Frito! NO checking for you!)

Here is what I sent to my secret Angel. It is going over the ocean!

Look what else came in the mail. All that lovely eye candy! I love Kona Solids, it reminds me of my mom. She had a lot of solids.  Well, I'm off to the "Happiest Place On Earth"!

Retreat Mt. Pleasant

I just spent three days at a quilt retreat with friends, food and fun! I'm not exactly sure where it was located, but we drove through Manti and through a few other small towns in Utah, up a canyon to this place:

Wilde Oaks! Yes, Wilde with an 'e'.  I think it was in Mt. Pleasant. It was on a mountain and it was pleasant. Look at those friendly faces to welcome us!

Here we are standing on the porch. Do you want to see what we are looking at? Well, I will show you...

Isn't it gorgeous? Lou Ann (the owner) said we missed the fall colors by a week. Oh well,  maybe we will see it next year. None the less, it was gorgeous. The weather was perfect too. Nice and cool!

Here is what we accomplished while we were there.

Kathy worked on Sassafras by Camille Roskelly. She used fall fabrics and it turned out darling. Can't wait to see it with the giant flowers.

Susan got caught up on her 2009 Mystery BOM's from Fat Quarter Shop. Yea, Susan!

Sharon finished her hourglass. Look at the oooh, so cute grandmother's flowers appliqued in the corners.  Yes, that is Sharon trying to hide from the camra. This is Sharon's own design. She is a very talented lady.

Debbie worked on bindings. I love this quilt. The pattern is Spice Cake by Mary's Cottage Quilts. Debbie also worked on her BOM from FQS too.  I forgot to get a picture.

Wendy finished her stained glass nativity by Design's by Edna. Wendy used hand dyed fabrics and it turned out stunning!

This is LouAnn. She is the owner of the cabin. She worked on Scottish Stars.  It is a pattern from a magazine. She is making it for her son-in-law. LouAnn is very generous lady. She has a lot of great quilt tips too!

This is what I worked on. I finished my Christmas version of Center of Attention by Heather Mulder Peterson.  It's from her book Stop, Drop and Roll. I also worked on Presidential Pardon by Sandy Gervais. I think this little turkey is so cute that he deserves a presidential pardon. I'm thinking about stitching on some legs. What do you think?

LouAnn made each of us a pincushion stuffed with wool. It's beautiful. Kathy made each of us this little bag filled with yummy home made caramels. The button was her mothers.  Other's brought food and great quilting tips. I had a fabulous time on this little quilt retreat.

So long farewell, auf weidersehen good-bye.
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight.
Goodbyyyyyyeeeee.....

I Long for Fall

The fam took a drive. We took a drive to Cedar Breaks, Utah to look at leaves. Why? Because we live in a desert waste land and I long for color. Southern Nevada has one color...brown. Utah has many colors...see?

This is one of the many reasons why fall is my favorite time of year.

We stopped at the best antique/craft mall in Cedar City. I should have taken a picture of the outside of the building but I forgot. But this is what came home with me.

All except the fabric! Mr P&L was nice enough to stop at a few quilt shops along the way. He's so awesome!

Are you anxiously waiting to see who won my giveaway? Dancer was gracious enough to draw the name.

Congratulations, Nanette!! I will get the quilt in the mail to you.

I Love A Parade

A while ago I participated in Kelee's life-saving Dog Scarf Project. You can read about it on this previous post. We met our goal and raised $2,000. Kelee is having a parade to celebrate and you can help. Each comment left at the Katillac Shack before October 1st earns an extra $1.00 for the Pet Pantry! There is a giveaway for you too. When you leave your comment you will have a chance to win $100 from Hobby Lobby! Go check it out...I'll wait here.

I finished my Schnibbles for September. I really didn't think I would have time to get it done, but it went together quickly.

I used Crazy 8's by Sandy Gervais for Moda. And now I can cross off a Christmas gift. Wahoo!

Angel Gift

My sweet secret Stitcher's Angel sent me a gift. I was so excited to find a package in the mail. She made this darling bag designed by Helen and sent me some fun wools. She has been reading my blog...I mentioned I wanted to play a little more with wool. She also sent me a coaster to put my drinks on when I sew.

Thank you my sweet secret Stitcher's Angel!

New Scripture Bag

I needed a new scripture bag. I am embarrassed to show you what my old one looked like. We will just say the old bag needed to be put to rest! (No pun intended..haha) So with a design in mind I snagged myself a Panache charm pack by Moda and got busy!

Much better! I really like how it turned out and now I'm quite styling at Church!

See this pile of fabric? This month is my blogiversay! And you all know what that means!?!

I am making something special for a giveaway! First I need to get over this flu bug that bit me...nasty bug!!

A Few Firsts

The Stitcher's Angel Swap is in full swing!!

Helen designed the first pattern for us. Here is my version. I hope my swap partner likes it. If you want a copy of this pattern you can get it over at Hugs from Helen. The possibilities for this bag are endless. I may just need to make a few more!

This week was Dancer's first day of school. She is excited school has started again. Why? Friends, dancing, friends, new photography class, friends, new fashion design class, did I mention friends...wait...what about chemistry?, history?, English?, you know...academics? This is where she rolls her eyes at me!!

Here is what I've been working on this week! This project is what my Christmas Goose Stitcher's Group is working on this year. It is Lynette Anderson's "My Home or Yours" series. I finished all 13 of these blocks. The hearts are wool. I changed the pattern just a little bit by using wool. This is my first time working with wool. I like it...I think I need to get some more!! (wool that is)

The blocks above go with these blocks. (I will show you more later!) The leader of our pack changed these blocks just a little bit too with the borders. This is such a fun and cute series of patterns. All the houses I did with wool also. I'm tellin' ya, I sure like working with wool. I can't wait to get the last two blocks finished!!

Treasures

My blocks are finished!! 70 to be exact! Yahoo!

Signed, sealed and ready to be delivered to Melissa (Cornbread and Beans). The blocks were fast and fun and I'm looking forward to the actual swap and seeing the siggys of a few of my bloggie friends.

It is so rewarding to use scraps!! Thanks Melissa for hosting the swap!

Dancer just finished up a week of local dance camp. She is a captain of the j.v. team and she had a fabulous time. We are all looking forward to another year of dance. There are only four home football games this year....I hope there will be more basketball games. Our high school has an awesome dance program (both varsity and j.v.)!!

My missionary son just hit his 18 month mark! I am the mother so therefore I have extremely happy feet. Six months to go!! I don't know why he is sitting next to a fire hydrant with a funny look on his face...your guess is as good as mine! Maybe because he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up!

Another man's trash just became my treasure! I love this little writing desk! I am such a romantic...I like to imagine someone wrote love letters on it. You know, like the characters form a Jane Austen novel. Mr. Darcy can write me a letter any time!
