This is her Mixed Bag to Quilt. I love this bag! It has pockets inside for my keys and cell phone. I will be sporting it when I attend a quilt retreat at Ruby's Inn in Bryce Canyon, Utah next weekend. Speaking of Ruby's...guess who's teaching?...

I signed up to take Nanette's All Dressed-up Quilt class. I won a kit (donated by Nanette) from Mel's Own Place when she hosted a party! Lucky me!! But I decided to use my mom's vintage fabrics I inherited. So I'm thinking now I will just have to make two quilts: one using my mom's fabrics and the one using the fabrics I won from Mel.
These are the left-overs when you cut off the squares from the Dressed-up quilt. I could not let them go to waste so I made little pinwheels. It think it will make a cute wall hanging or baby quilt.
Now on a more serious note...my heart and prayers go out to my Aussie friends who are plagued by terrible fires and flooding. If you want to help go see Stephanie's blog.
Piece & love,
Dawn

Your bag is so nice and you will be styling I am sure at your retreat. I have gotten behind in my blog reading and am just now reading the one about your church fire. It is so sad to lose a "home" which many times our churches become like second homes where a large family gathers to fellowship, worship, share in each others joys and sorrows. I know it meant a lot to you and your sisters and brothers.
That Nanette is truly amazing. I will be teaching 3 classes at Bryce next week. Be sure and find me so I can meet you. I love putting faces with names!
What is the latest on your church?
Your purse turned out darling. Love the colors. I also ordered a kit and it's sitting in the pile waiting for me to make it...for ME of course.
I've been thinking about making Nanette's purse before Ruby's next week...on top of the other hundred things I have to do before then. Yours sure turned out great!
The bag is wonderful...love the fabrics...:o) Will be perfect on your go away trip... Oh so fun to take a class and make that lovely quilt!! :o)
Don't you just love Nanette's fabrics. I have the dress pattern too and what a great idea with the leftover triangles.
Your bag is beautiful. Thanks for thinking of us Aussies. It's been a tough time.

Dawn, you are so sweet and thoughtful. What a nice post. You make me blush. I had a great time with you and Sherri. Strike that - a FABULOUS time. You both made my week. Without you it would not have been nearly that much fun. I can't say enough about how wonderful it was to meet you and be together. I can't wait until we can do it again. Your bag turned out so so cute!
